.....Mr. Plant's music.
I have been editing my old site that was devoted to SM. I just might have everything added now. The link is on the left--Robert Plant/Led Zep fans....as well a pic from 1988...when I first begun listening to his music. The photo is currently my screensaver!!
....Darkness darkness be my pillow.... take my hand and let me sleep....
A beautiful song--but those are not his lyrics, rather a song he covered.
I first listened to him when I was 15 years old--a LONG time ago. I was flipping back between MTV/VH-1 and I saw this vid for Tall Cool One--and just blown away. I didn't understand why he had such an effect on me as he is 25 years older than I.
In 1991, I saw yet another vid for Hurting Kind {I Got My Eyes on You}--an edgier, harder side of him. I loved the song as well--always wanted to choreograph it but never could. Now, I sadly don't have the song. I kind of lost sight of his music as he is not mainstream anymore. I was listening to more current/mainstream bands.
In 2003, I started building my cd collection and found a collarboration with Jimmy Page and him--Unledded and discovered again his voice--13 years later. I found myself loving old Zep songs such as Gallow's Pole and Four Sticks. Also, in '93, I bought his newest cd, Dreamland and begun working on Darkness, Darkness--a hypnotising beautiful piece of music combined with his voice {that vice}.
Currently, I am working on all My Love--a song that wrote about his son, Karac, who died at 7 years old. I should also mention that I picked this song to work on before I knew what it was about---an ironic uncanny sense, maybe!! The lyrics are below to the song:
Should I fall out of love, my fire in the light To chase a feather in the wind Within the glow that weaves a cloak of delight There moves a thread that has no end. For many hours and days that pass ever soon The tides have caused the flame to dim At last the arm is straight, the hand to the loom Is this to end or just begin?
* Chorus: All of my love, all of my love, All of my love to you, now. (repeat)
The cup is raised, the toast is made yet again One voice is clear above the din Proud Arianne, one word, my will to sustain For me, the cloth once more to spin
Chorus
Yours is the cloth, mine is the hand that sews time His is the force that lies within Ours is the fire, all the warmth we can find He is a feather in the wind
Although, it has a happy verve to it--it is sad if you know what it is about. So, I have to get Nine Lives boxset because the songs that I have/like are the ones that skip!!!! Figures. Well, that was my story of my discovering Robert Plant!!!
